Making a Difference Together: Partnering with the Speech and Cognitive Development Team from UCLA

We are thrilled to have partnered with the amazing Speech and Cognitive Development (SPOG) team! Led by the insightful Dr. Meg Cychosz, their presentation was packed with practical strategies and research-based knowledge for fostering speech and language development in young children.

Our community walked away with valuable tools and a deeper understanding of how to nurture early communication skills. Beyond the presentation, we were delighted to support their groundbreaking study on how children understand language in various listening conditions. By participating, our community contributed to research aimed at developing new ways to help children with hearing loss thrive!

The highlight for many children was engaging in the study’s interactive language activities.  Everyone had a blast completing a variety of language-related games that involved listening to words and sounds and choosing pictures on a screen using an eye-tracker.

This partnership has been an incredible experience for us all, and we are deeply grateful to Dr. Cychosz and her team for their dedication to supporting early childhood development. Thank you to everyone who took part in this special opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow together.
